Ladd brings more than 15 years of real estate experience to his role as managing director of Millennium Development Group – a partnership, formed by U.S. Equities Realty and Detroit-based, full-service construction firm, Walbridge Aldinger, which specializes in government build-to-suit leaseback projects and the development of publicly-owned real estate.

As managing director, Ladd is responsible for procuring and managing new real estate development opportunities with the public sector in the markets of commercial office, health care, military, transit and urban redevelopment. Ladd specializes in creating and implementing management systems for complex projects of varying size and scope, including contract administration, financial management, and overseeing schedules and budgets. His experience includes managing a range of large-scale government and commercial projects, both domestically and internationally. 

Prior to joining Millennium, Ladd was a senior project manager for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP where he oversaw the planning and design of numerous governmental projects which included the complete systems modernization and renovation of the
E. M. Dirksen Federal Courthouse Building in Chicago, Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) planning at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, as well as the new NATO Headquarters in Brussels with a construction budget of over $500 million. He was also a part of the management team for the 15-acre, 2.5 million square foot U.S. Patent & Trademark Office campus located in Alexandria, Virginia that represents the largest build-to-suit leaseback project ever completed by the General Services Administration.

Ladd’s commercial portfolio includes the management of the design effort for the new 1.8 million square foot Chemsunny Plaza corporate headquarters located near Tiananmen Square in Beijing for China’s third largest oil company. Additionally, he was part of the project management team for the design development and implementation for over 350 Charles Schwab retail facilities throughout the United States.

In 2002, Ladd was appointed by Governor George Ryan to the seven-member board of the Capital Development Board (CDB) of the State of Illinois and continues to serve as one of its seven board members that oversee the construction of new state facilities, as well as the renovation and rehabilitation of the more than 8,400 facilities statewide.

Ladd holds a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He is a Registered Architect in Illinois, NCARB certified, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
